This tool allows you to retrieve the link to the CRX archive of a Chrome Extension. 

To use, browse to the Chrome Web Store, search for your favourite addon and paste the link to the extension page below. More information on installing extensions indirectly from the Store can be found in this guide.

As of now I haven’t found a way to not make Google Chrome automatically try to install the extension, but using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox will allow you to get the download prompt.
